I have the same problem with GMX CardDAV sync, I didn't start a full trouble shooting, but it started out of the blues last week, Error 308.
Similar for me, the download file from the update didn't work, nothing hapens, but instead of using the default "install update" I also download the file, run the setup.exe or the MSI and I get this error: 'myWinLoginName' is not a valid short file name. After the 1st screen telling me not to use Everyone on Office 2007 Win10 Pro, 21H2, Office 2016x32
Any new on this request ? I'm in the same boat, with a public folder with subfolder that I want to sync with one Google Contact (that keep or not the subfolder, I don't care). But I don't want to mix all of them into one large over the network public folder. Thanks
problem is still present after the latest update

I remove all version completely. Install 2.26. use the "check for update" and let the system install the new version. Same problems, both versions are present. Uninstall 2.27, leaving 2.26 installed. Download the zip file for the 2.27, run only the MSI, not the EXE. Version 2.27 installed correctly and 2.26 is no longer in add/remove program So it's either a problem with the EXE installer or the check update is launching a different installer ?!?! Feature request: have an icon in the add/remove prog......

yes as mention in the 1st post, since both version were in the remove/add programm, I remove the old one. After each update I remove the old one leaving the new version working. But still I shouldn't manually remove the old version... look like something is wrong in the update process.
