FIXED by VeraCrypt version 1.24 Update 8. Confirmed working with macFUSE 4.0.4. NOTE: This ticket was specifically about the interaction of macFUSE 4.x and VeraCrypt on Intel. Compatibility with M1 etc. is a related issue but with Update 8 that is addressed as well. Update 8 should run fine on M1 with Rosetta2 emulation. Thanks, Mounir! This ticket can be closed.

Version 4.0.1 is available with as a preview, but avoid that for now; VeraCrypt 1.24 Update 7 does not currently work with the changes in that release.
