    Changing the disk to ide did the trick. Must not have the driver to do the scsi disk.

    I have a special apc version of linux that monitor my ups's The machine it ran on recently dies so I took the disk and am trying to make it into a VM First thing I tried was using clonezilla to backup and restore the disk.     I knew the disk encryption password. I did not know the local Administrator password. This is my companies machine so I had permission to do this. Do not use chntpw without the "true owner's" permission to do so. I have clonezilla bootable from the network so I can do without a thumbstick or cd.
