    When initiating the pretest I inuitially received an error message: Access is denied Source: VeraCrypt::File::Write:694 I rebooted the computer and tried again and received a different error message: Access was denied by the operating system. Source: VeraCrypt::Elevator::ReadWriteFile:174 In both cases I was logged into Windows 10 as administrator.

    Thanks. I tried that - several times. First just reinstalling over the existing installation, then uninstalling completely with RevoUninstaller and reinstalling, and finally uninstalling withRevo Uninstaller and manually removing all VeraCrypt and IRDIX keys from the registry and files from the computer. All attempts produced the same results. It was only when I installed 1.22 that it worked.     Problem solved. After repeated problems I uninstalled 1.23 with hotfixes and reinstalled 1.22 and it worked fine.

    When attempting to create a rescue disk I received the attached error message. Entire disk was encrypted but I decrypted it to repair Windows 10 installation, This occurred when I tried to re-encrypt the disk. The boot loader remained after decryption but didn't require a password.
