I’m maintaining an unofficial fork of GO Contact Sync Mod because the upstream project appears inactive. This request is now implemented in my fork. The installer remembers the previously chosen install path and reuses it on reinstall and upgrade, instead of always falling back to Program Files. I also tested the behavior for fresh install, custom install path, upgrade, reinstall, and fallback when no previous path is remembered. I’m maintaining an unofficial fork of GO Contact Sync Mod because the upstream project appears inactive. This may be related to issues I’ve worked on around profile/folder persistence and Outlook startup/readiness handling. I can’t promise it fixes every “Outlook contact folder is not selected or invalid” case, but it may be worth testing if the problem is coming from folder selection not being restored reliably. Part of this report sounds similar to an issue I worked on in my fork: repeated re-syncing of unchanged contacts. My fixes are strongest around contact sync behavior, deletion-prompt behavior, profile/folder persistence, and Outlook startup handling. This ticket looks very close to an issue I worked on in my fork: repeated no-change contact updates on every sync run. I also fixed deletion prompts appearing when Sync Deletion is off, plus some profile/folder persistence problems.
