I'm having the same problem with varying results, however, I'm only trying to password protect a single file. I right click > add to archive, set a password, confirm the password, then hit ok. Using zipcrypto After this, I can open the .zip folder without any need to enter a password, and i can also open the single file in this folder without any need for a password.
