I think I will also be leaving 7Zip for something else. I'm trying to extract a file that needs more temporary space than my C drive (an SSD) can spare and because there's no way to change the temporary directory (as pointed out by Igor in 2011!!!), 7Zip will only use the default temp folder on the C drive, causing file name length and file size errors constantly. This bug is easily fixable but I don't personally have the time to address it so I'm hoping it will be addressed in the near future so...
