The recompiled vtwm has properly-spaced menus, but you have to fix all the compile errors first. See other recent messages about that.

I've found the vtwm compiled binaries (default package install) on Ubuntu always show menus with huge spaces between the items. If I compile the source myself, the menus are normal. Attached is a screen shot from Ubuntu 26.04 that uses vtwm 5.4.7-9build1 -- it's as if every menu item has an extra blank line inserted after it.
