When you have no problems: The Microsoft Helpdesk calls you. Offers to take over your computer and fix all kinds of computer and security problems that you did not even know you had. When you have severe problems with Microsoft services: There is no Helpdesk. You're on your own. Good news is that this issue is getting some media attention. Yesterday it was featured on the primary Dutch ICT news website Tweakers.net. Sometimes media attention can fix what individual users or developers cannot.

https://www.truecrypt.org Their site used to warn that using TrueCrypt was not secure and they hosted TC version 7.2 which could only decrypt. Now the website is back with the last fully functional version 7.1 and no warnings whatsoever. The site may have been abandoned and re-registered by a new owner but that's just speculation. I would not download there as you cannot know if the downloads are and will remain legit. But the digital signature of the TrueCrypt 7.1 installer is valid and original....

Even if it is unsupported: I was able to install VeraCrypt 1.26.15 on 3 Windows 7 x64 computers with the UEFI boot loader and system encryption turned on. All these systems have the latest extended security updates (ESU).

!!! Do NOT run Windows 11 22H2 Setup on a VeraCrypt System Encryption encrypted partition. !!! Decrypt first, then backup, then upgrade, then re-encrypt. I currently have a failed operating system because in the past I encrypted my system partition with VeraCrypt, made an image backup from it with Acronis True Image 2019 boot CD (Sector-by-sector) and today I messed up my system with an Windows 11 installation. I wanted to restore everything from the image backup but it fails to boot, and the VeraCrypt rescue disk stays unrecognized partition. So I have to reinstall everything from scratch. I will need to apply veracrypt system encryption again and...
