Ahhh, clever. Might be less confusing though if its length matched that of the password, or would that have a security risk I'm not thinking of?
It's a dummy field filler which appears when you have "Show" password selected, rather than "Hide" – presumably to avoid redundant repetition and marginally reduce the shoulder-surfing risk. Personally I think a row of greyed-out asterisks, the same length as the password, might be less confusing - Rony?
