    Strange indeed. But, as I said, it also seems broken in non pdfkit applications. I wonder if it requires Look Up to be differently implemented?

    Thanks for checking this. I have set a system app shortcut, so it is Command-F for me. I just chanced it back to default, but that did not solve it. It is almost as if Skim draws the pane, but so narrow it is invisible. Let's see if someone else recognises this, or if a MacOS update fixes it.

    To clarify and correct: this happens on a pdf that I have newly opened. I then have to click twice on the button, not three times.
