Thanks for the listing, I already understood the .exe differences so far. I guess I drifted away from the main topic a bit, my bad... :-D I created a screenshot to make it clear: Basically all of this is a Feature Request or the question if our need already works somehow. On PC1 (Windows): Create a Self-Extracting-7z file (7z got installed in this PC) On PC2 (Windows): Extract the created FileName.exe (from PC1) completely silent without 7z program being installed on PC2! If this would be possible...

There is no -InstallPathswitch in 7-Zip, Interesting. I tested it with -o"Path" and it worked. On an internet page I found a post that you should use -InstallPath instead of -o and it worked. And since I was able to put a space in between the switch and "path" I thought it could be right to use this switch instead of -o This is working: -o"Path" This is not working: -o "Path" But to be honest, I only tested -InstallPath on Self Extracting 7z file and not on a .7z file, I guess this switch will not...

Thx for your feedback @Igor Pavlov, I'll check it out. I created a Self-Extracting file with 7z and then I tried t extractx (expand/unzip) it on another device without 7z installed. I used this CMD command: 7z_SelfExtraxt_Filename.exe -InstallPath "Target" -y It instantly extracted the 7z Container File, but sadly it shows the GUI while extracting (unzip) it. So it's "automated", yes, but not hidden so this will interrupt the user while working on this machine. So I thought it would be a great idea...
