I encountered the same problems as above, with back-ups made from my RuneAudio Pi-image. Me thinks it has to do with the fact that Disk Imager needs a Windows drive letter. Which means that there must be at least one (1) partition on the card that Windows recognizes (FAT or FAT32). In that partition Windows 10 creates a hidden directory "System Volume Information" with 2 files in it: "IndexerVolumeGuid" and "WPSettings.dat".
