Dear Philip, please tell me the truth, is it like you looked at my patch and were like "damn, this is not even worth looking at it"? ;-)

Here a separate patch for reading the commandline from a file in order to be able to workaround lack of commandline buffer when concating huge lists of files. After all i found it would be a lot better when one can specify "all" parameters instead of just a list of files (which i did 6 years ago). usage: bmxtranswrap.exe path_to_cmd_file Example content of cmd file: --no-reorder -y 10:00:00:00 -t rdd9 -o E:\temp\concatohnefast.mxf \server\share\ORF00007.MXF \server\share\ORF00008.MXF \server\sha...

Sorry for the delay, i was quickly in the shower :D No, honestly dear Philip, i want to excuse myself for not finishing this, especially because you invested lots of efforts in the review and discussion. The project was finished and i was not able to invest the needed days to gain the missing knowledge and submit a clean patch. This time i was able to take care about hopefully everything you pointed out above. Except one point which i was not able to get out how to do this as GetEditUnit is void:...
Hello, same here. The updated code from Valerii was tested and proven to work using a recent Avid MCP version. Is there any chance that this is getting into the main trunk? Cheers!
Dear Philip, thanks for your super fast response! No problem to find and compile MXFDump, thanks for the tipp. Thanks also for the tipp about mxf_baseline_data_model! Strange, in my brain there was stored that one can load a supplementary dict xml, but i guess that was the old version of libmxf tools? Anyway, thanks a lot, Cheers, Harald
Hello again :-) from time to time i would like to add local tags and other stuff that is not yet translated and recognized correctly (e.g. named dark metadata). Not sure how to start, i expected to find some default dict that is compiled into the binaries, so i downloaded and compiled the latest source but i miss the mxfdump project (i downloaded from the git repo, last updated 2018-08-28): https://sourceforge.net/p/bmxlib/bmx/ci/master/tree/ Any clue is very welcome!

Thanks for the very quick answer Jerome! Already considered your suggestions, ParseSpeed does unfortunately not help in every case. The file command is a good alternative. Using ffprobe is an alternative too. It is just that mediainfo xml output is so nice to parse;-) Just for reference: Tried to compile with what you suggested and also MEDIAINFO_MINIMAL_YES MEDIAINFO_VIDEO_NO MEDIAINFO_AUDIO_NO What happens then is that there are lots of compiler errors about missing libs and more. I guess i now...
Dears, i am trying to get out if there is any way to trick mediainfo into reading just as minimal amounts of data from disk as possible or better to speed up to the very maximum. As a result i just want to have extremely basic information about the file, e.g. the general section or what type it is (exe, pdf, mpeg-ts, avi...) The background is that unfortunately there still seem to be lots of cases where Mediainfo seeks through the whole file, possibly not reading a lot but still jumping a lot which...
