texlive first? i installed texstudio first.

whats the best way to install the latest version of texstudio and the glossaries package (or tex packages in general)? i tried it using the software center but that doesnt give me the latest version. sudo apt-get install glossaries doesnt do what it should either :-(

What does xindy do?

I tried your little sample document and guess what? The glossary does not appear. All I get is the enumeration. And yes, I tried that build, glossary, build thing. When i selected glossary, it gave me an error. Something about that "xindy" thing in the \usepackage line. Can't be more specific because I'm typing this on my tablet. My current theory is that something about my installation is FUBAR. The question is, how do I fix it? I use Ubuntu 16.04.

that is a different problem, and it doesnt help me with mine. you say it's a bug? has it been fixed now?

hi. i want to update my texstudio but how do i do that? in options -> configur -> general there is an option to check for updates automatically, but that refuses to let me tick the box, and the check now button is greyed out. so what can i do? i have version 2.10.8
