Thanks a lot for your reply! Do you suggesting killing the process? The file is getting bigger just really really slowly i guess. Is there a better way to speed it up other than just chunking it down?

Hi everyone, I've been running an ncrcat command for four days now to process a large NetCDF file (65GB), but I noticed it's only using one core. I opted to use ncrcat as ncks wasnt able to load the large file and i had a memory issue. I used the command like this to extract the first 3 months of the dataset : ncrcat -d time,0,89 simulation_output.nc simJan-March.nc Im wondering : Is ncrcat inherently single-threaded? Are there any flags or approaches I could use to make it multi-threaded? Thanks...
