Thanks. While there is still some time left, I'd like to encourage you to start planning for a solution this year. Experience shows that it takes a while (years) for new major versions to reach users. From release tarballs to rolling-release distributions to enterprise distributions to users that rarely update their systems (think of that forgotten box in some corner of the office doing its duty undisturbed).
