I had a drive that turned out to be failing. Before I knew it was failing, I ran snapraid --verbose sync it seemingly hung indefinitely. This confused me. The log looked something like Verifying... Verified /mnt/red1/snapraid.content in 1 seconds Verified /mnt/red2/snapraid.content in 2 seconds ( hang now ) after many force quits (ctrl-C, ctrl-Z ; left snapraid in a semi unstable state) I discovered the drive was failing. snapraid was asking for snapraid.content (I store it on all drives) and likely...

3-parity seems to be taking much longer than the other parities. All disks involved are HDDs and the 3-parity read/write speed is >100 MB. I have not seen it be much slower than the other drives in other contexts. Is 3-parity more mathematically/cpu intense than parity or 2-parity? I've read up on the math of snapraid parity. 81%, 347911 MB, 124 MB/s, 476 stripe/s, CPU 24%, 0:10 ETA ... 100% completed, 425467 MB accessed in 0:55 5%, 0:00 ETA d1 0% | d2 0% | parity 10% | ***** 2-parity 8% | *****...

I have a server running Snapraid. I just got an error after changing one drive for another. WARNING! Content files on the same disk: '/var/snapraid/snapraid.content' and '/mnt/sg-8tb/snapraid.content'. Loading state from /var/snapraid/snapraid.content... 168940 files 0 hardlinks 3049 symlinks 236 empty dirs UUID change for parity '3-parity[0]' from '[asdf]' to '[zxcv]' I'm not sure why the UUID for the disk would change. I suspect it's interpreting the new disk as part of the 3-parity[0] scheme,...
