    It seems I misread the tag names. They were "rn_A and rn_O" and not "m_A and m_O". With that, I was able to find an XMP spec online that identified them as: rn_O = dm:tapeName rn_A = dm:altTapeName So now I'm pretty sure I know why the 2 avi files have different metadata.     I'd like to post a question on the mediainfo forum to ask what the m_A and m_O columns represent in AVI metaedit. I use Alldup to identify duplicate files by comparing MD5 hash values and 2 seemingly identical files (name and size) don't match. I figured the metadata may be different so discovered AVI metaedit. Metaedit confirms the video and audio content MD5 values match but shows a difference between the files metadata under the Core metadata table under the m_A and m_O columns. I'd just like...
