Hi again, sorry I'm slow in responding but we have just moved house with all the disruption that entails. This is where I have got to. I tried many time with different 'programmer' arduinos to load a bootloader into the NANO. ( 3 in fact ) Every time it came back with a error "Yikes! Invalid device signature." Then for none related reasons I upgraded fro Windows 7 to W10. I also loaded MyFocuserPro2. Just for the hell of it I connected the NANO and tried to program once more and . . . it did! No...
Looks like it doesn't have the bootloader. If I try Tools - Burn Bootloader it comes back with an error again. I'm going to google for a fix. Many many thanks for your help. As a retired engineer I miss the support of my colleagues. cheers gaj On Thu, 14 Nov 2019 at 22:01, brownrb brownrb@users.sourceforge.net wrote: If you have these settings and it still will not program are you sure it has a bootloader present on the chip? Just tried loading a simple example into the board and its coming up with the same error. Clearly a basic set-up problem. Hi there thanks for the prompt response. I've updated to Arduino IDE 1.8.9 Also turned on verbose in preferences Selected the old bootloader I note what you say about the incompatibility of the Windows application. My fault. Got confused with the mass of info that you provide and all the variants. It looks like a programming problem still. I get the following message shortly after it says it is uploading. avrdude: stk500_getsync() attempt 1 of 10: not in sync: resp=0x50 I am using a NANO board that...
I'm having problems programming my board - built on strip board. The program ( MyFP2_DRV8825HW203_291 )compiles ok then starts to upload. While programming the board LED starts to flash rapidly. It stays like this for at least 5 min. If I terminate by disconnecting the USB port and connect to the MyFocuserProL app, then press CONNECT it seems to communicate in a limited way. Get firmware returns P5000. There is no temperature displayed. The Get Temp returns and error message that it received P5000....
