I might add that it appears you can use the Change Volume Password ... routine under Volume Tools ... with the same password for both the current and new. So you do not really have to change the user entered password to get the volume / container updated to Veracrypt from TrueCrypt and / or to set a new hash algorithm such as AES 512.

I have a 16 GB VeraCrypt volume that has always mounted fine. Except in the new 1.26.7. It is the only one of over 20 that will not open. (That is, after converting about 8 from old TrueCrypt format on an old archive / backup disk.) I have another volume the same size that opens just fine in both versions; so do not think it is a size issue. None of my archives will open (anymore) in TrueCrypt; so definitely not TrueCrypt format. All 20+ open in 1.25.9. It is just this one that will not open in 1.26.7....
