I'm learning, too. So this isn't entirely off topic at all. When you say "unplug all drives", did you mean just the externals, or also any other internal drives? I have two additional internal drives that I unplugged from the the sata ports on the mobo in my troubleshooting. Super easy. Oyden (the Mobius Raid maker) said to try a different cable. I'm using eSata to USB. I had a USB 2.0 to 3.0 but on my iMac it would disconnect itself a lot, so I got the eSata. But now tech support says that cable might be casusing the issue. I'll test soon. I also replaced the power supply in my Raid enclosure on my own, so I might need to go into it again and make sure all the connections are solid. Oyden has GREAT tech support by the way. Very responsive and patient.

Ah, yes, you are correct. It was a coincidence! After I wrote it and hit send, it occured to me that this odd issue probably was a coincindence. This is a new build, 3 weeks old, my first build, and I've just switched from Mac. So my learning curve has been huge and this is NOT the first wild ride of troubleshooting I've done. In the end, guess what it was.... my Raid drive, if on and plugged in, disables my boot, into windows, into safe mode, into WRE, and bios. I was doing all those trouble shooting...

I installed Equalizer APO, ticked every box so it would effect all Audio (even the ones that said experimental). After install it asked me to reboot. I did. I've not been able to get Windows or my bios up for the last 3 hours now. My screen stays black with a white underscore. I've tried unsuccessfully to reboot in Safe Mode or in Windows Recovery Mode.
