Thanks for the quick reaction. Yes, from the command line this is possible but from user perspective it would be great to allow this on the desktop client as well. Literally my initial posting refers to the Windows FM application, since this is mainly used here.
We process large amounts of data and it is desired that we deliver all archives in *.tar.gz format. Unfortunately, it is not possible to create this variant in 7-Zip in a single step. It would be so convenient if we can directly create this archive format on our Windows workstations without any intermediate tar file involved.
