Hi, thanks for the response. What do you mean by something is rotten in the system? It's a pretty new laptop I don't know why anything would be borked like that. I may give the Spanish tutorial a try because this issue continues to pop up with several games now, always going back to the SRU.chk thing. Could this fix whatever is 'rotten' do you think? I'm willing to try. A good start would be getting the full page translated to English, but how to do that?

Hey guys. I've thought about a VM but it seems a bit of a pain for my novice-skilled-self to install. Hey guys. Not sure what you mean by shims, I tried all the compatibility options of the different Windows versions, nothing really seemed to work. Both have administrator's rights, tried running the game directly I get the same error. Not sure what log file to post other than the one I found in Event Viewer, if you guys have a specific file you need to look at please let me know. Appreciate all of you for being cool. :) That said, I'm on Win11 Pro, using the "Reloaded" version ISO, installed to a flash drive (where all other old games seem to work okay, I've also tried the C drive iirc), and also, the English patch is supposed to be installed by putting the 'zones' and 'scripts' folders in the main installation folder apparently.
