What is the physical meaning of the epotdist parameter ? It is mentioned twice: First under the list of parameters , as coefficient in exponential function for potential evapotranspiration's depth dependency http://hype.smhi.net/wiki/doku.php?id=start:hype_file_reference:par.txt Secondly, just listed as a parameter on the PET wiki page. http://hype.smhi.net/wiki/doku.php?id=start:hype_model_description:processes_above_ground#evaporation How does this parameter influence the hydrological processes?...

We found the solution in the meantime. We suggest mentioning that the file flooddata.txt should always be present :)

We have a HYPE model with a multi-basin outlet lake which does run anymore with versions 5.34.0 or higher. In the release notes it is mentioned that a multi basin lake is not compatible with floodplains. We have not implicitely defined flood plains (no flooddata.txt file, no flood plain related parameters). Our tests also stop when floodplain info are to be assessed. How to deal with this? Can a multi basin lake model be shared as a demo?

Hello, We are setting up a HYPE model for a large river catchment in South America (Rio Paraguay). Previously experience with HYPE we had was for Ireland. For Ireland we easily found a parameter set giving good results for the base flow, seasonal variation and hydrogram shape. For the regionalisation we made use of rivvel and par. For our case in South America, we also started from that parameter set, performed a sensitivty analysis and tried to further optimalise that parameter set. However without...

For our case study we consider two regional parameters: rivvel and damp. Our catchdes is constructed as follows: 2 1 1 ... and our reg_par file is constructed as follows: 2 rivvel 1.5 rivvel 1 damp 0.5 damp 1 ... Could you explain how these parameters are related to the linear estimator function? Is the linear estimator function similar to y=ax+b? What is the meaning of the first and second parameter? Does a equal to 1 and b equal to 1.5? If incorrect, case how should we understand those parameters?...

In order to reduce the simulation time during automatic calibration, we would like to run a selection of a larger HYPE model setup. We added "submodel Y" to info.txt and created "pmsf.txt" in which we defined the total number of subbasins and listed the subids of the subbasins under study. However, we did not succeed running the partial submodel and receive the warning below. [cid:image004.jpg@01D626E0.16078650] When running the complete model, we obtain in tests.log -- Evaporation -- petmodel: [Passed]...

We are calibrating the HYPE model for a case study in Ireland. I included a figure for the catchment outline in attachment. For this catchment we have discharge observations at the outlet, but no information on the waterlevels of the lake and no information on the discharges at the lake outlet. We observed that the catchment is very sensitive to the lake parameters and not so much to ssrate, rivvel and damp. Have you encountered a similar case study and, if so, how did you tackle the calibration?...

Can the special class information for lakes be added in the similar way?
