Now I understand, it was a bug settings language in a french Windows. Please try this patched version replacing existing files. Thanks for the report, translation was mainly done automatically.

  • Abel Abel posted a comment on ticket #118

Hi, I found no problem with english language switching from french. May be reinsalling application would be enough.

Hi, I would try vpaapi, qsv or auto as a decoder, (you may need to refresh decoders list), It is the same as adding as pre-input parameter: -hwaccel vaapi / qsv / auto Then you can set hevc_nvenc or h264_nvenc in parameters for encoding. Performance should vary if decoding is actually being performed by intel gpu, however, depending on the input format, hardware decoding may not be available. Also, intel gpu decoding with nvidia encoding would not save much if finally decoding is performed by intel...

I really can't tell the cause of this behaviour, maybe related to memory issues.

Looks like new verbose logs are a drag on performance, better to use them only for debugging. I'll set them to a lower level in the future.

Thanks for the info. Could you first try to disable verbose logs in 3.0.7, before updating portable 3.0.6? It is really the only change that could affect performance,

Could you post the log file for multi-file? Have you tried with previous ffmpeg.exe 7.0 Are input files stored in a HDD o SSD/NVMe drive? Drive destination is in the same drive.

  • Abel Abel posted a comment on ticket #117

Hi, it is not an issue, but a lacking feature. Avisynth scripts support is very limited, I lack the time/support for analysing the many possible script formats.

  • Abel Abel posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

Just trust the new ffmpeg version when prompted, or at Settings -> Security and Performace -> Check "Do not validate ffmpeg".

That's it. Looks like something related to how nvidia hevc encoder works, since it is not displaying time progress information. It outputs constantly: time=N/A bitrate=N/A speed=N/A Without this information it is not possible to display encoding progress, time remaining, etc. It is not something related to FFBatch, On next release, raw progress output from ffmpeg will be displayed, so it does not look like encoding is frozen.

  • Abel Abel modified a comment on discussion General Discussion

May I have a session log file, to analyse the progress output that fails to display? Next release will display ffmpeg command line output when progress information fails to display. You can try it here.

  • Abel Abel posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

Hi, looks like the progress information finds some error, so it stops displaying info, but the encoding process continues on be background. I agree it is somewhat annoying, though encoding actually finishes, it is a progress information issue only. In order to debug it I would need a file causing the problem.

I have performed multiple changes in order to allow ffmpeg.exe in a different path. Shared version should work too. You can try this beta release. replacing your current executable.

  • Abel Abel posted a comment on ticket #114

Hi, thanks for your support and kind words. About deinterlacing, you could use yadif filter (-vf yadif). You can playl with it using the encoding wizard. About mediainfo, in settings you can enable "Full multimedia info report". I guess that should do it. (Report is a limited summary by default). Regarding translating into french, I'll have to meditate about it, it is a very long job now (1150 text strings to translate, 34 window forms).

  • Abel Abel posted a comment on ticket #113

As you can see for example in log2.log, until: frame=48907 fps=183 q=17.0 size= 3583744KiB time=N/A bitrate=N/A speed=N/A ffmpeg can't obtain bitrate and encoding speed. Without those parameters, progress info is not available. From this frame on: frame=49002 fps=183 q=18.0 size= 3601920KiB time=00:34:03.66 bitrate=14438.2kbits/s speed=7.64x This is something related tothose specific files, the reason ffmpeg takes so long to start providing that info is unknown to me.

  • Abel Abel posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

Hi, you could just add your input file to the list, then use those parameters: -vf alphaextract,format=yuv420p then use the rename setting and add "_alpha" as output suffix.

  • Abel Abel posted a comment on ticket #112

Just use the Display log button. It saves the ffmpeg terminal output. You can also enable in settings "more vebose logs" for further information on next encoding session. On the other hand you could also try another ffmpeg version at gyan.dev, like git master full builds.

  • Abel Abel posted a comment on ticket #111

Hi, I tried with the second video and I found no problem with output name. Maybe something related with your language settings. Only these characters are removed for safety purposes: /:*?¿@"<>\|

  • Abel Abel posted a comment on ticket #112

Hi, does it happen with specific files? Can you post the session log file contents? Sometimes this is caused by a flooding of warning/error messages that slows processing down.

Wow, that's weird. I had never seen something like that, but the workaround was clever. Sometimes in this registry key (regedit.exe) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\ if there is am FFbatch key, removing it may fix it.

Thanks for the reply, I was using a Parallel For loopin .net 4.7.2 to filter items in a non UI thread listview. It works pretty well but when using very small files (txt files, flac) it somehow misses 1 listview items out of every 1000 or so, and if you run the same routine those files are finally filtered as expected. I do not think the problem is with mediainfo, //Clone UI listview ListView lstv2 = new ListView(); listView1.Invoke(new MethodInvoker(delegate { lstv2.Columns.AddRange((from ColumnHeader...

I was launching it once per file for thousands of files it takes some time (not that much), then I tried launching several instances and speed improved, but some memory leaking or race condition caused a few files missing the info. I tried dumping info into a text file directly from cli and it was much faster.

Hi, I was clito bulk check info for lists of files in the same folder, and it works like a charm, the point is that it accepts as output just some files or folders, I can't find a way to add many files from multiple locations, since arguments can't reach certain size. Just in case there's some workaround, or as a suggestion for the future. Thank you very much. Abel

Hi, I'm not sure about the cause. Could you try using directly variables in parameters to emulate your trimming, adding either in pre-input or in parameters: -ss 6 -to %fdur-105 Since now file duration variable admits operators.

I hope this helps: Conceptually, there are three terms DAR (display aspect ratio), PAR (pixel aspect ratio), and SAR (storage aspect ratio), these terms are used interchangeably to refer to/denote video resolution creating confusion sometimes. DAR: The aspect ratio at which a video should be shown on a screen or monitor is called the Display Aspect Ratio, or DAR. It considers the scaling or display of the video samples (SAR) as well as their requirements. DAR determines how a video will appear on...

  • Abel Abel posted a comment on ticket #99

Some videos beginning is low complexity, so encoding is faster. When complexity increases, encoding speed decreases and tends to stabilize. Are you using sequential or multi-file? Multi-file remaining time is only an estimation with some degree of variation.
