It looks like the folks at mono have pinpointed the issue: https://gitlab.winehq.org/mono/mono/-/issues/30 @dreichl / @pail459 : I'm wondering if you would consider replacing the foreach with a single xdotools call?

Thanks Paul! From what I can see, the culprit seems to be /Util/SiEngineUnix.cs => ReleaseModifiers This does: string[] vMods = new string[] { "Shift_L", "Shift_R", "Control_L", "Control_R", "Alt_L", "Alt_R", "Super_L", "Super_R", "Meta_L", "Meta_R" }; foreach(string strMod in vMods) RunXDoTool("keyup", strMod); Not sure what changed in the mono environment, but it appears that because I'm still holding the CTRL key when this code hits (though I try to press them as quickly as possible), the futex...

Thank you, this is very helpful! Since there's no delay when I right-click => Perform Auto-type but only when I press CTRL+V (or use global auto-type): Could you tell me if KeePass does anything differently internally with regards to releasing those keys in those two scenarios? It's only those modifiers that show the delay - the actual user/password are typed without any delay. It's really strange.

Hi Dominik, Thanks, I will look into this! What's the sequence of calls in this case? I understand KeePass.exe is a windows executable. But in the end it uses xdotool to perform the key presses, which is a linux tool. In the strace I could see the following immediately before the futex delay. 9629 11:43:05.732840 execve("/usr/bin/xdotool", ["/usr/bin/xdotool", "keyup", "Shift_L"], 0x55c32adcc410 / 43 vars /) = 0 <0.002684> Do you know the flow from KeePass.exe to execve("/usr/bin/xdotool? Does KeePass...

I’ve been using the Debian keepass2 package on Bookworm without issue. After upgrading to Debian Trixie, I noticed a 3–4 second delay when performing auto-type via a key combination (CTRL + V from within or global auto-type Sequence of events: Select an entry Press CTRL + V KeePass minimizes immediately, switches to the target window Nothing happens for 3–4 seconds Auto-Type is performed normally Notes: This happens regardless of target program, but only when using a keyboard shortcut, or global...
