ok it appears that the kile installation comes with some texlive dependencies which when installed will mess up the initial texlive 2018 installation. is there a way to install kile without those dependencies? or make them play nice with the texlive install?

Hello all, I have just installed the latest Kile on manjaro (latest) and I am having some problems getting my latex document to compile. I am using the elsarticle.cls class and Kile complains that it cannot find it, although the file is present in: /usr/local/texlive/2018/texmf-dist/tex/latex/elsarticle/elsarticle.cls The document compiles fine with TexStudio. Also when I chek the system I get the OK from kile so everything should be running smoothly. What can I do to tell kile where to look for...
