Edit: I'm sorry. I've been keeping an eye on the discussions over the past few days, looking for whether this came up at all and found no topic discussing it. Just when I clicked on the Open Discussion forum though when looking for my own post, I noticed an already existing topic about it. Disregard. https://bugs.chromium.org/p/project-zero/issues/detail?id=1286&can=1&q=unrar&desc=2 Since this bug was publicly announced on June 21, I would like to inquire about the status of the unrar module in 7-Zip....
https://bugs.chromium.org/p/project-zero/issues/detail?id=1286&can=1&q=unrar&desc=2 Since this bug was publicly announced on June 21, I would like to inquire about the status of the unrar module in 7-Zip. This bug can allow attackers to write to arbitrary memory locations at the time of opening an "infected" .rar file and so it is a very grave problem if 7-Zip still uses a version of the unrar module with this bug.
