Hi, I have a question about the backup output file size once the backup is complete. I am using Clonezilla Live 3.1.1-27 to backup a Linux Mint installation and when I complete the backup, the file size is 4.5GB. This is my 1st backup - I'll call it Backup01. This backup includes the original installation, the updates, and some applications. Then I will customise themes and tweak some settings, with no internet and no file/data changes and then I will back it up again. This one will be Backup02,...
Hi Steven, Thanks for your replies. I have a another question about the backing up of an Full Disk Encryption (LVM) Linux O/S (Linux Mint). When I run Clonezilla Live (3.1.1-27), it goes through the process and asks for my encrypted LUKS2 password. I enter it to allow the backup to get just the used space/blocks as it's unencrypted. Then it outputs the backup image folder. Is it important to back that image up, as it exposes the passphrase for the LUKS? Also, when I go to restore the image, it asks...
Thank you Steven for all your replies. I have download the newest version of Clonezilla Live (zip version), and it works perfectly. However, I must ask, about the downloaded file. I don't usually have anti-virus installed, but I do check an online scanning service called Virus Total. When I download it and scan it with the Virus Total website, it claims that the file is infected with malware or a trojan. I have asked a friend to check (scan with MalwareBytes and ESET) on his Windows based computer...

Does CZ Live 2.8.0-27 have this feature?
Thanks Steven, Is there any step-by-step instructions on how to do this. I have seen this: https://gist.github.com/andyrbell/4a339c0d8a3bc9465743a6b876671dcb But it doesn't work for me. Here's another one: https://gist.github.com/andyrbell/4a339c0d8a3bc9465743a6b876671dcb I think it is only the decrypted partition that gets backed up and not the entire disk. Correct if I wrong. Thanks again, Darryl
