Hi, Unless this has not already been found and reported. While checking some details to understand what relay on the board is used to do what I discovered that the relay marked K36 JSR.0 probably really should be marked K36 AND.0 and also that the relay marked K73 JSR.1 probably should be marked K73 JSR.0. Not very important but if above is correct maybe this could be fixed for some later release of the board and docs. Best regards, /Dag (The previous post I just made before this one should be r...

Hi Ryan, Glad you like my pi hack. And nice to hear that your calculation ended with the correct result. :-) Please go ahead and add my programs to your library. Best regards, /Dag

Hi all, I did some improvements on the pi calculation program and thought I should share that too. The new version contain several optimizations to save space, allowing for other improvements. The precision has been increased with two bytes to six bytes in total. This gives another 5 decimal digits to the result. The division loop contain new code to skip some unnecessary subtraction. This saves about 25 minutes of execution. The transformation from binary to decimal is made with a quicker algo for...

Thanks for the positive feedback on the "pi hack". I am working on some improvements. Expected to be made available in a not very distant future. Writing remainds of the "good old days", when memory and processor speed was limited and the programmer had to consider in all parts the consequence for speed, size and precision :-).

I wanted to find some suitable task for the relay computer to deal with. After some considerations I decided to write a program for calulation of pi according to Machin's formula. The program calculate pi to 8 decimals and provides a printout of the result (converted to decimal encoding) to the ttl. It use almost the whole memory and takes about 30 minutes to complete at medium speed. Please find more info in the asm-file. Enjoy. /Dag

Hi all, I have for long time been thinking about creating something like this and was quick to order the board when I found it after googling the topic. I managed to source components in the BOM via (mostly) Mouser and Digikey. Not a single part was missing. I had a few issues to get the board work after initial soldering. I had missed to solder two socket points and I had positioned the upper connection of r185 in wrong hole. These things where quite easily spotted. After fixing that, the board...
