Also it was installed from the MSI. I didn't spend anymore time on it. just updating this in case someone else has a similar problem in the future.

It seems to be how I installed it (via intune). It doesn't happen on a new install.

after I upgraded to 2.50, I can not longer see my recent keepass files when I right click the shortcut I pinned to the taskbar in windows. I noticed it didnt upgrade, and just installed keepass new (i had 2.49 or 2.48, I don't remember for sure). So I had 2 versions installed . one (new ) to C:\Program Files\KeePass Password Safe 2 and the other to ...program files (x86)\keepass2x. I also noticed in add remove programs has different names, when I did it on a second computer it called the new one...
