Changed my mind - going to roll my own using a Wiznet W5100S-L and a LPJD0110BANL transformer ethernet connector.
I have ordered 2 of the WIZ750SR-TTL: TTL Version from Mouser and will attempt to get 2 boards to send/receive data between them.
Thanks Evan, I will look into it. I have used USR-TCP232-T2 in another project for UDP exploration however, this module looks to be better - I think.
I may buy a module from Mouser (950-WIZ750SR-105 for $25 US) and start poking around with it - features below: Serial to Ethernet Module based on W7500P MCU Software and Hardware compatible with WIZ107/108SR S2E Module The modules is available in three versions: WIZ750SR-TTL: TTL Version WIZ750SR-RS232: RS-232 Version WIZ750SR-RS485: RS-485/422 Version 10/100Mbps Ethernet & Up to 230kbps serial speed Pin-header(2x6) type & RJ-45 connector mounted module 4-Pins Configurable User's I/O Status pins:...
OK Evan, what would be your suggestion? Would like both wired and wireless modules if at all possible. Looks like the WIZ750SR might work well - wired ethernet. Regards.

Anybody using this as an easy way to do Ethernet? It can: Support Hardwired Internet protocols : TCP, UDP, WOL over UDP, ICMP, IGMPv1/v2, IPv4, ARP, PPPoE Support 4 independent SOCKETs simultaneously Supports half/full duplex operation Support SOCKET-less command ARP-Request, PING-Request Support Ethernet Power down mode & Main Clock gating for power save Support Wake on LAN over UDP Supports high speed SPI Interface (SPI mode 0/3), Parallel System Bus with 2 Address signal & 8bit Data Internal 16Kbytes...
Apologies, I did not copy the image correctly - did not come across.
