You can find a working version in my collection of graphic adventures. My version is in Italian, but you should be able to replace my files with the ones you have. https://emesrl20-my.sharepoint.com/:f:/g/personal/mtwz_emesrl20_onmicrosoft_com/EmYpY0CSfhFDlrqAkrJ-3JgBfh8RDkbuKkIDOq5wwfxt1g?e=iEm39t
To reset Windows in the event error there is a simple backup compressed in the folder where the image resides, even for the game image there is a backup in the game folder, however if this were also corrupted you will need to recover the saves using 7- Zip or Winimage. The reset script among the things still to be done will also automate this process but you will have to copy save game by yourself.
First I installed and configured Windows 95 on a DOSBos-X disk image, then I installed the "PACT Shutdown" software by removing the automatic startup option with Windows, a simple program for Windows 95/98 that allows you to schedule the shutdown of the system. Once this was done I installed the game on a second disk image recognized from Windows as D:, on this disk I then created a script, "Game Launcher.bat", which restores the original "SYSTEM.INI" (I will explain this shortly thing) and then...
But my collection works mostly with Windows 11.
I assume you're referring to Horror Luna Park? I emulated Windows 95 on DOSBox-X, removed the startup and shutdown images, and replaced the shell value in the system.ini to start the game without displaying the desktop or other images before the game loads, so it almost looks like Windows 95 doesn't even load and everything runs faster.
Hello everyone, I would like to thank you for the help given and share with you this project started a few months ago, unfortunately both the description and the entire collection are mainly localized in Italian but it could still be a starting point for the execution of some "difficult" titles. http://forum.arena80.it/index.php?topic=11442.0
Well, the fact that it's not crashing is good news, you don't need to try some saves or play a lot, sometimes it crashes even without even starting a new game, to be precise it does it in these two cases: Pressing "Yes" to return to the initial menu after quit a game; Pressing "Exit game" to return to the desktop.
OK, but regardless of the mouse pointer, can DxWnd fix the exit crash problem? Can also stretch the screen vertically leaving the aspect ratio from the game menu at 4:3?
