Hi and firstly thank youfor your swift response! (1) I simplified the equation as good as I could, actually the function to solve is not that complex to read - my equilibrium value obviously all the more (2) I gave it a shot with to_poly_solve, but I believe the possible result is to complex for it - sometimes it says "empty list" and sometimes it calculates half an hour without an output. In the mean time I found out that the main problem seems to be that I have to use square roots in the model...

Hello people, I am pretty much desperate. In no manual, explanation site or similar I am able to find a solution for my problem. Maybe someone here can help me out? I simply want to find a global maximum. I understand that when I derive my function for my variable, set the result zero and solve for my variable i get a stationary point. Problem: in the solution Maxima gives me, my variable still depends on itself and I cannot solve this so that it depends ONLY on the other variables. So for example...
