Hi Jacob FYI Sometimes at a blank screen you can just press the Enter key to get CloneZilla to continue. These UEFI/BIOS settings will let me clone a Lenovo ThinkPad T480 with the latest CloneZilla: Security - Secure Boot - Disabled Startup - UEFI/Legacy Boot -Both Startup - UEFI/Legacy Boot - UEFI/Legacy Boot Priority - UEFI First Startup - UEFI/Legacy Boot - CSM Support - Yes Like Steven said, always use a current version of CloneZilla for best results.

Hi Tbasura Clonezilla Server Lite will begin after a set time or number of clients have been found. Make sure that this parameter is set correctly and yes you can set it to just 1 client. It is hard for us to give you network advice since we don't know any details of your network but here are a few things that you can try. Use broadcast mode instead of multicast mode. Replace your switch gear with another brand or type. Don't use your production network. Use a closed network with DHCP from Clonezilla...

You will never get satisfactory results in cloning a mechanically damaged drive. You should have stated that you have a damaged drive in your first post.

Hi Todd I'm not sure why you would want to restore the partition to a third drive. There are a lot of variables in successfully moving data from a large drive to a smaller drive so you will just have to follow the steps in the FAQ to see if it will restore your drive without errors.

Hi Steven The Lenovo ThinkCentre M920z has a Smart Power On USB port to supply power to the keyboard when the PC is off (if Enabled in BIOS). Very interesting! I think that this hardware design may be related to the boot problem. But when I set the BIOS to either Enabled or Disabled it will NOT let me boot with a unmodified clonezilla-live-20200922-groovy-amd64.iso boot parameters on ANY of the USB ports. Hi Mark That is good news that the file systems (software) are in good shape on both drives. Next I would run the Disks application Short S.M.A.R.T. test from a live Linux USB drive if you want to check the (hardware) health of your drives. Then if everything is still good you can create another image with Clonezilla Live.

Notice that the attached jpg shows that dd mode is being used! Using dd mode means that the clone image size will always be the same size as the source disk because dd mode always makes a copy of all of the blocks on the source disk. If CloneZilla can not read the format of the files in use on the source disk then it will default to dd mode instead of partclone. Also if the source disk is configured with uncommon hardware settings (BIOS, UEFI, RAID ect.) or is encrypted (Windows BitLocker) it may...

Hi Steven I ran some tests with Clonezilla Live Lite Server in BitTorrent mode yesterday and thought you would like to see the results. BitTorrent mode worked great and even with multiple repeat tests I had no errors! I will be doing more tests soon and I would like to thank you for the new BitTorrent mode. Format your USB flash drive and try again. I have found that Rufus is the best tool to format and create bootable USB flash drives from Windows. http://rufus.akeo.ie/ If you use Rufus to create a bootable disk then always use the DD image option for best results.

Hi Steven I tested clonezilla-live-20170920-artful-amd64.iso today and it worked great without any delays. Thank you for the new version. Chuck

OK after more tests it does work but takes a very unusually long time to get past the screen posted above. I just didn't wait long enough. Sorry for the report.

Hi Steven I'm getting the same failure on the same PC with clonezilla-live-20170905-artful-amd64. Let me know if I can send you any more info. Chuck

I've attached a photo of the console when it stopped.

Hi Steven I tried to use clonezilla-live-20170829-artful-amd64 today in KMS mode to clone a desktop PC and it quickly failed to load and hung. I tried it from 2 different USBs so I don't think it was a media error. So I went back to clonezilla-live-20170824-artful-amd64 and it worked just fine. Let me know if you want any more info. Chuck

Hi Steven I've used Clonezilla Live Lite Server mode in clonezilla-live-20170626-artful-amd64.iso to image over 200 PCs here at my school this last week. Usually 20 PCs are imaged at one time. It has worked great and I've had no problems. Thanks. Chuck

Hi Steven I used clonezilla-live-20170613-artful-amd64.iso once again today on the same Lenovo 7518 M81 desktop PC as before in the above video and I did hear the screen reader (espeakup). I then used the latest clonezilla-live-20170626-artful-amd64.iso on the same PC and did not hear the screen reader so this version looks good to me. Let me know if you need any more tests. Chuck

Hi Steven I used clonezilla-live-20170620-artful-amd64.iso today to create and deploy a new image of a Lenovo 10AF M93z desktop PC and I did NOT hear the screen reader at any time. This PC has built in speakers like a notebook. No problems found. The clone create and deploy went very well. Thanks. Chuck

Hi Steven I used clonezilla-live-20170613-artful-amd64.iso today to create a new image of a Lenovo T450 20BV notebook instead of the Lenovo 7518 M81 desktop PCs I used earler and I did NOT hear the screen reader. So it might be model specific to speaker hardware. Let me know if you want me to run any more tests. Chuck

Yes it is also happening when you create a normal Clonezilla Live image of a single PC.

Hi Steven I used the new Clonezilla Live clonezilla-live-20170613-artful-amd64.iso today to both create a new image and then deploy it with the new Clonezilla Live Lite Server mode to a PC lab at my school. It worked great! No problems found except the new screen reader (espeakup) was crazy (see my video in my espeakup topic). Chuck

Hi Steven I used the new Clonezilla Live clonezilla-live-20170613-artful-amd64.iso today in the new Clonezilla Live Lite Server mode to restore a PC lab at my school and I had quite a laugh! As you can see from this video I'm not sure this is what you intended! I would like to respectfully ask for you set the default of the new screen reader (espeakup) to OFF and then create a new menu item on the Other Modes of Clonezilla Live Boot Menu page (same page as the boot options KMS, To RAM and Failsafe...

Hi Steven I tested Clonezilla Server Lite from the new clonezilla-live-20170529-artful-amd64.iso running from a USB today. I restored 3 Lenovo E430 notebooks with a Windows 10 Pro 64 image at once! I used my usual test network and options: KMS, PXE, Beginner Restore Disk and Multicast Restore over a Cisco Catalyst 3560 fast ethernet switch on a closed network. The master Windows 10 Pro 64 image was stored on an external USB3 hard drive and was created with Clonezilla Live clonezilla-live-20170508-zesty-amd64.iso....
