Sorry. I realised my error almost instantly ... I meant the function I e.g. used a moment ago: marking the 'Sourceforge' entry in KeePass and hitting Ctrl+V. This is no function of the clipboard (?), and it cannot be changed in KeePass (??) - nor would I think this is necessary
you must have retained an old config file ... not to my knowing. But: now, it works as before, tahnk you all !
Why did you change Auto-type selected away from the default Ctrl-Alt-S ? Using Ctrl-V is a strange idea , as it is the default for paste from Clip board in any program. Do you have KeePass set to "always on top"? I did nothing of the sort. Before the crash, Ctrl+V did always insert a double-clicked password (or username) into any program. I used this a lot, especially when the program did not accept drag&drop. After the crash and re-installing Win10, the problem was there, the same evening. It took...
Really: Ctrl+V is associated with "Auto-type selected entry" in 'System-wide hot keys' - as far as I remember, this was also the case before re-installation. What has changed is the behaviour of KeePass: Before, I selected an entry (the one I needed), and it worked. There was no problem if no entry was selected - now it tries to force me into providing a selected entry. How to get rid of this ? Can I define a non-System-wide hot key ? second best would be to define e.g. Ctrl + W ... I have no plugins...

While there is no problem with Ctrl + C and Ctrl + X (they put things into the clipboard), I noticed a malfunction of Ctrl + V. This command inserts the content of the clipboard into a document, as expected. BUT: After I started Keepass (I use the latest version 2.49 dating Sep 10, 2021, "installed" by unzipping) - Shift + Ins continues to work correctly = inserts...
