Hi Michael, I had the same problem to open a container via smb. The easiest way to have a computer were Veracrypt is installed and with this computer to pen the container or partition and release it via smb. If you want to open a container via smb it gets much more complicated because of missing userrights. I tried the same. I opened veracrypt and via the browse button I went via network to the file on the server and wanted to open this and I received the same error message. It took three days to...

@John A: This is working exellent. I added to the sudoers file the %sudo ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD:/usr/bin/veracrypt, /usr/bin/uptime No admin password requested anymore. @Musikolo I could not find the source code as download for 1.24-Hotfix2 I was using for the 1.23 installation the download from here and installed it. Now it is deinstalled and I am using 1.24-Hotfix1 via Ubuntuusers. If there would be security issues @idrassi would have updated the home folder for Ubuntu http://ppa.launchpad.net/unit193/encryption/ubuntu...

Hi Musikolo, I am no linux nerd. I am more or less a user. I know and tried the Hotfix 2. This can be downloaded at https://sourceforge.net/projects/veracrypt/files/VeraCrypt%20Nightly%20Builds/? If you did not try this yet you could do this. It might help. In my case it did not. I want to solve my problem as well but for this I need support. With V1.24-HF2 I need to enter admin password 4 times to mount a partition and to dismunt I need to enter admin password 1 time. I only have encrypted partitions....

Hi, I deinstalled veracrypt like shown above. There was no file veracrypt in the folder usr/bin left. After this I restarted th computer. I downloaded veracrypt 1.23 from launchpad and installed via script file for GUI. Now veracrypt is working fine. After entering the key for the harddisk the disk gets mounted like in the past. No question for admin password because I have a file in the sudoers folder. There is something wrong with V1.24HF1 & 2. sorry. If I can support please give me an Info.
