You are correct, sir! ...you, in your mystical and borderline divine way were partially correct. Can't say exactly what happened, cause (Hic!) - slept since y'day. The problem wasn't from an old keepass.exe, or not using correct (extracted) 2.58.zip. Likely, my dog copied an old version of KeePass.exe.config from a BU KP version. No clue why. Apparently, then the KP version listed in KeePass.exe.config gets saved to ~/.config/KeePass/KeePass.config.xml. I extracted the 2.58 zip again to /opt, and...
Similar issue, here. Use the zip 2.58 in Mint 22, extracted / copied to /opt/KeePass. Same method for yrs. Also copy "KeePass.config.enforced.xml" from last used vers. to the newest. Like Dave, when launch the new (2.58) vers & chk updates, it shows "new 2.58 available." In the extracted 2.58 zip (extracted to Downloads), KeePass.exe.config, shows: <bindingRedirect oldVersion="2.0.9.0-2.57.0.0" newVersion="2.57.0.21656" /> After copy extracted 2.58 zip to /opt, & run KP - open a DB, then close, on...

KeePass 2.57 .zip, in Mint 22 / Cinnamon DE; mono-complete 6.80.105 (Ubuntu) (from LM 22 repo) In recent KP or Mono versions, on some notification type popup windows, the font (color) on some buttons is either non-existent or the same color as button background. See attachment. Can't see the action taken if such a button is clicked. Nor can tell action taken if escape or click the close button on those popups. There are a few notification screens where this happens. Buttons on popup windows from...
Thanks. yes, but KeePass has some features not in KeePassXC. AFAICT, the written user docs for KeePass are also more extensive than * XC. That's important, cause even w/ KeePass' documentation, there are still lots of unanswered questions. Don't know for a fact, but the dev(s) / maintainers of * XC may not have the security field background & experience as Dominik. This isn't just some screen capture app we're talking about.
Can you live with the problem? Well... I since found (sub-menus popping up too fast) affects other items, so it's bigger than one item. Never noticed a problem w/ sub-menus opening lightening quick, as move pointer down main menu list. Maybe a recent (unintended) Mono change? Always kept KP's UI at lower, right of monitor. Discovered possible work around. If 'dock' KP's UI on lower right of monitor, part of issue can be, where is the entry ( want to access) is located in the entry list pane. E.G.,...
I didn't find posts on this, so maybe I'm only one? In Mint 20.1, If main window is small-er_not 'tiny' (e.g. 780 x 660), when click 'File' then attempt to move pointer FAST down to menu options, can't move the pointer fast enough past 'Open Recent' w/o the list opening. It stays open (as long as pointer is over the original size of 'main menu' or over recent files window). The Recent files window hides entire menu & won't disappear until pointer is moved past the bottom of recent files window -...
