Edit: @iliajie Done a 'reset settings' in Chromium and Webmin file manager is working as expected. Have been trying several AI colab pages over the last couple weeks ,trying to see what all is out there,and am guessing,, there is a good chance one of these Colab pages had hosed something in Chromium. Hi Llia, yes I agree ,,just wanted to post if you start getting similar posts about file manager. Im not sure how close Chromium,,,and Chrome keeps their code,,versions? I dont remember ever seeing that kernel error for Chromium before,,in syslog,, but wasn't really looking for Chromium errors in the past either.

Hello, Recent history. Updated one week ago from Debian Bullseye 11 to Debian Bookworm 12. Just adding this for completeness. Always use the native Chromium as web browser . Never fails. A day ago a Chromium update for new Bookworm came down. Webmin filemanager did work for a day. Now when i go to use filemanager the java applet or progression bar spin back and forth for a few seconds then stops. if i wait almost two minutes I get the "page unresponsive' pop up display at top of page. Restarted PC...

Michael, Update. Knowing that the USB boots with windowbootmanager and secure boot disabled, the USB will boot fine without doing any of the browsing for the *efi file in the bios , monkey business now. Barry

Michael Success! Had to disable the WindowsBootmanger in the UEFI window ( unchecked) . Also disabled secure boot. That may have been the 'shim' error.Who knows. It get booted to were you should be able to next screen enter G4l,to start the process. I think this expected behavoir. Pretty sure on a dell previous I had to tempoarily disable the Window BootManger in UEFI to make this work Also for completeness this is a freshly formatted M.2 NVVm disk 256 GB i wiped out the factory partitioning scheme...
