    Being a user of PasswordSafe from the time on when it was created by Bruce Schneier, I only recently I discovered the feature that if I left-click an entry (not the icon) and drag it to a password field, the password is inserted. Very handy indeed. Is this feature relatively new or have I been sitting under a stone for some sweet time?

    What is the reason? Is "Master Password" not woke enough? Is it worthwhile to spend energy and risk inadvertant bigs in the code for that?

    That would only be useful if the psafe3 file doesn't change very often.

    I'm now only using iPhones where the pwsafe app can use my psafe3 file on Dropbox directly. Until about a year ago I had an Android smartphone. There I had to use a PasswdSafe_sync app in addition to the PasswdSafe app to be able to use the psafe3 file on Dropbox.

    For the Pwsafe app on iPhone/iPad to use a database on Dropbox, you need an in-app purchase. Did you check that this is still active on your iPhone? If not or in doubt, try to restore the in-app purchase. Just a thought. I'm also using Pwsafe on my iPhone 14 and iPad Air 5 with the PasswordSafe database on Dropbox without problems (so far). I have iOS 17.4.1 installed. The only strange thing (which should have nothing to do with Pwsafe) is that iTunes offers to install 17.4.1 for the third time although...

    A passphrase generator would need to use a word list or dictionary to generate passphrases. Since password crackers also use word lists and dictionaries, that wouldn't necessarily increase the security. You would rather want to use a phrase or combination of words that you can easily remember. If you like Shakespeare for instance, you might use a citation (maybe not the most well-known such as "It is the nightingale and not the lark").
