I don't know what's going on but this produces unuseable pictures on Pixel 8 pro. OC ver 1.5.3.1. Gray splotchiness on every pic in std, HDR and DRO modes. It did the same thing on my Pixel 5a. Unuseable, sad to say.
Yep, another of these. Pictures taken with DRO turned on and with the Camera in Camera2 API mode have nasty-looking splotchy-ness all over. It's not really correct to call it noise, in the sense that it's not consistent even in uniform areas of the picture, so there's little to no chance that your typical noise reduction could help at all, IMO. Sadly, I was in a hurry and didn't notice until later. Thankfully, the DNG files are not affected, so the session wasn't a complete loss. It looks bad on...
There are multiple threads in General Discussions about Pixel 5a issues. It seems they go away if you turn of Camera2 API - but then you don't get DNG files :(

Flash was expicitly off for my tests of expo {} and manual exposure. (The 2 Anonymous entries above are me.)
I have a Pixel 5A 5G. ( About Phone simply says "Pixel 5A"). Expo {} does indeed produce 3 badly out of focus images with Camera2 API enabled, which is what brought me here. I'm not using HDR, so far as I know.
