I am a fairly new user of Veracrypt and have a basic (I assume) question. How do I back up to the cloud so that the backed up files are encrypted? I backed up an encrypted file from my Veracrypt volume to iDrive, went online to see the file, restored it to my unencrypted disk drive, and the file is unencrypted. I would like my backed up files to be encrypted. How can I achieve this and verify that the backed up files are actually encrypted in the cloud? For that matter, how can I verify that any...

Alir--you seem to be very knowledgeable about Veracrypt. I have just started using it and have a couple of questions. First, how does anyone know the files in the volume are actually encrypted? Is there anyway these files can be opened in an encrypted format (either in or outside of) Veracrypt? Also, I back up my files to the cloud (iDrive). I backed up an encrypted file from my volume to iDrive, opened it online, and it is unencrypted. I would like these sensitive files to be encrypted on iDrive....
