I tried gparted g4l with another disk seems that works it goes to 100% now so it must have been the disk that was slightly smaller even it was the same ?! Now the question is why can gparted boot up fine on this t440p and let me run g4l? Perhaps the same boot process in gparted can be added as an option?

Are there other boot distro with g4l inside than gparted?

I tried preloading few images from gparted but they all stop at 99%, 99.97% 238276.00 of 238346 so seems gparted g4l is no good.

Hi I just boot now The laptop has 16 gb ram 1: I press tab add mem=256M same stuck ata8 pata max pio4... 2: I reboot again add mem=512M same stuck ata8 pata max io4... 3:When I go in the bios i can choose thinkpad lcd total graphics memory 256 MB or 512 i tried It was on 512 i tried put it to 256 and then also use mem=256 but just the same
