Also I have been experimenting with using Ableton Live to include backing tracks within the Jamulus session, so that everyone can hear and play along with the tracks as well as a metronome click. If anyone is interested in how I've got that working I'm also happy to share that as well.
Absolutely! I would be glad to elaborate further as well if anyone wants more info.
Just want to say thanks again to the Jamulus community and @corrados - we ran a flawless rehearsal last night over Jamulus - such a great service you have done for musicians to be able to stay in connection through these times. I am willing and able to help anyone else I can to get this up and running in the Netherlands if they encounter issues - it's worth it! For reference, we were all within one city (Haarlem but spanning 2 providers - Ziggo and KPN). We achieved a rock steady 20ms pingtime and...
OK so it seems everything is working (thanks Robert for helping test!) - here is a summary of what I learned - My server installation was probably working before I knew it was. When testing with multiple machines on the same LAN, for some reason the server (also on the LAN, but forwarded thru the ISP gateway) does not seem to show up in the connection lists on the other machines, which makes it seem like the firewall changes are not working. So the lesson is - test your server with someone outside...
I get about the same ping times you were seeing for me. Would you be able to try to connect again to B-ELECTRIC?
I see it and can connect!
Hello Robert! Thanks for checking on it, that's great that you can see it. I saw a connection attempt - were you able to successfully connect a client to it? If so, then it's working and I think I know how to set up via Ziggo now :) I would be glad to share my learnings with you and help troubleshoot if needed.
Hey I noticed a connection on the server this morning - was it someone from here? If so, awesome :) - can you tell me if the server just appeared for you in the central list? Did the connection actually work? I'm dying to know :D
