Haven't found a solution however I did find a workaround but it requires an older Pi. I used a Pi3 but a 2 would probably work but I didn't test it. Basically you load the latest image of Raspbx (10-10-2020) on the Pi3, do the updates then pop out the SDcard and boot it up in the Pi4. everything seems to be working ok. I even did a few small updates without any issues. Of course this isn't really a fix and not sure if the next major update wouldn't break something.
Hello, I'm trying to load the latest version of Raspbx (10-10-2020) on a new Raspberry Pi 4 with 8GB memory. The initial install goes fine but anytime I try and run the upgrade "raspbx-upgrade" it hangs and renders the OS unbootable after that. I can run other OS's on the Pi with no problem so I know the Pi itself is not the problem. Have also tried different SD cards with the same results. Here are the last few lines during the update before it hangs. Setting up libbrotli1:armhf (1.0.7-2+deb10u1)...
