OK, thanks for these data. It really helped. I was able to reproduce the problem in Windows 10 and you can find as an attachment a pre-version that fixes the issue. FYI, there was two symbol names that were identical on a case insensitive system like Windows (Diamond.svg and diamond.svg). And there was recently a commit in LibreOffice that prevent this to work, so the trouble...

Hi, what system do you use? I tried this morning in Ubuntu 24.04 with LibreOffice 24.2.4.2 and updating TexMaths (0.52 => 0.52 .1) from the extensions menu worked as expected.

Yes, I confirm that TexMaths can't be used if LibreOffice is installed as a snap or flatpak package. This is because in that case LateX programs can't be launched from LibreOffice.

Ok, thanks. I tested with Windows 10 22H2 64 bits, LibreOffice 7.6.7.2 (last production version, 64 bits, fresh profile), MikTeX 24.1 (64 bits) and TexMaths 0.52 and everything works as expected. No error message. Equation well compiled and displayed. So, here are some ideas: - perhaps you have an older Windows 10 version? - perhaps some security software you installed prevents execution of latex.exe? - could you try to update your LibreOffice version? - are you sure you tested with a fresh LibreOffice...

OK, thanks! Could you try with a fresh LibreOffice profile? Please make a backup of your profile before deleting it. You also need to reinstall TexMaths in that case. Also, be sure you don't have some accented character (é, à, ù, è, etc.) in your user name.

In fact, version 0.52.1 has not been officially released yet, because there are some issues with it in recent versions of LibreOffice. I was waiting for fixes from the LO team, but its'not ready. However, I'm a bit surprised: where did you get the 0.52.1 version?

Hi, I tested both examples in Ubuntu 22.04.4 (texlive 2021.20220204-1) with LibreOffice 24.2.4.2 and TexMaths 0.52.1. Equations rendering is as expected (your first drawing). So perhaps it is an issue with your LaTeX compiler in Windows? \begin{tikzcd} N & A \arrow[from=1-2, to=1-1] \end{tikzcd} and \begin{tikzcd} N & A \arrow[l] \end{tikzcd} with LaTeX preamble: \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{tikz-cd}

OK, thanks for the tests. I have the same system and LibreOffice version as you and it works without such an issue, so this puzzles me. So let's try to dig again. Your system uses either Wayland (new way) or Xorg (old way) to display windows and widgets. To check your session type, please do (in a terminal, as a normal user): echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE You should get either an X11 or Wayland answer. X11 means Xorg. I think you moved the user directory inside ~/.config/libreoffice, am I right? It's safer...

Hi, you're right, there are errors in the website and extension site. TexMaths 0.52 requires at least LibreOffice 7.4. I strongly advice you to update to the latest LibreOffice version (24.2.2). You can use a ppa for that (https://launchpad.net/~libreoffice/+archive/ubuntu/ppa) or wait until Ubuntu 24.04.

To compile Xfe, you need stable FOX 1.6.x not devel 1.7.x.

Hi, your config.log says: /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lX11: No such file or directory so you probably didn't install X11 development libraries. You also need the FOX toolkit and some other dependencies.

I don't think they will do something like this. The UNO part of LibreOffice does not evolve anymore these days. A solution would be to completely rewrite the UI part of TexMaths using some graphics toolkit (GTK? Qt?) but of course this would require a lot of work and skills that I don't have.

Yes, rename oxt files to zip and extract. But its simpler to use the LibreOffice basic editor to modify TexMaths.

Hi, I fully agree with you that TexMaths lacks syntax highlighting. However, due to limitations in LibreOffice UNO text widget (the one used in the TexMaths dialog), it is not possible to apply some text formatting (color, bold, italic, etc.) to the equation text.

Hi, this sounds like your system uses pdftex instead of latex for compiling. Could you try this: cd ~/.config/libreoffice/4/user/TexMaths/tmp latex tmpfile.tex This should compile the last entered equation and give a valid tmpfile.dvi.

OK, I see: to fix a problem with dashed lines appearing as solid lines when using tikz, I apply a workaround (export to EMF instead of SVG). But this workaround does not work in your case and the rendered image is corrupted. An easy fix is to add the line: fixDashedLines = FALSE at line 630 of the TexMathsTools module (in function ImportGraphicIntoClipboard). However, you will have solid dashed lines when using tikz... OK, I see. The problem arises because Xfe uses its own implementation of the strlcpy() function and this function is now part of the glibc since 2.38. The strlcpy() used in Xfe needs a +1 in the size of the destination string, while the strlcpy() from glibc does not. I'll fix the issue and release a new version in the next days.
