Hi, shell scripts are not executed when the option "Don't execute script files" is selected. This is just the option below "Notify when applications startup", so probably you selected the wrong option.

Hi Roland,I see now that I gave the wrong preference setting. It should have been:Edit>Preferences>Dialogs, when "Confirm execute text files" is unchecked XFE will no longer run bash shell programs (by double clicking or pressing enter)
