Thank you very much, James, for looking into the details! I just did not catch it: Would this flag be transparent to me as a user to then choose an alternate access method or is this something in the internal workings of the algorithm. And, in your experience, how long would it roughly take (broad estimate in terms of weeks / months / years) until when this would be released?

I believe there once was an older version of jackcess where Database(File f, boolean readOnly) was the db constructor - i.e. not the DatabaseBuilder factory. I do not know what version of jackcess it was at the time, but the software (CimTool) build on top of it is of 2013 and able to read the eap file. It just does not extract what I am looking for. This is why I wanted to give it a try myself. Not sure this information is helpful.

Thank you very much, James, for looking into this and responding so fast. The database I am trying to access is under https://www.entsoe.eu/Documents/CIM_documents/Grid_Model_CIM/CIM100_CGMES31v01_501-20v02_NC21v52_MM10v01.zip It's an Enterprise Architecture project (UML diagram) with the .eap extension. I do not have this software because I do not really want to venture into UML modeling (alas, I am electrical engineer!). With my version of MS Access I do not manage to open this because, apparently,...

I am new to Jackcess, downloaded it yesterday (version 4.0.4) but could not locate Apache Commons Lang 3.10 (as shown in the dependencies) so I am using Apache Commons Lang 3.12.0 instead. As a beginner, I tried following the "Cookbook" at this site. I managed to load my database file and open the database. But getTable(aName) returns null. This is unexpected because getTableNames() properly yields all the names and "aName" is among them. Also, getTableMetaData(aName) is null. Checking the logs at...
