When I hash files I pop them into a few websites and check they all produce the same hash. I don't trust one site, but I do trust two or three. The odds of several independent websites being shady and producing the same incorrect hashes is very unlikely. I would sooner trust two hashing websites than one...

One that would keep me awake at night in case it's stealing information. Would I be able to accomplish the same results as verifying a PGP signature by doing the following?: 1.
